Acceptable Use Policy - Message Logix, Inc.
 
  1. Purpose
    This Acceptable Use Policy ("AUP") outlines the standards and restrictions for using Message Logix, Inc.'s Software License Platform Solutions ("System") for sending informational messages & notifications. The purpose of this AUP is to ensure lawful, appropriate, and responsible use of the System by our Clients to communicate critical information, such as building closures, emergencies, and important reminders to associated members of the Client's community.
    Software License Platform Solutions are available only to Clients who has executed an Agreement with Message Logix, Inc., and refer to any one of the services provided below.

    Software License Platform Solutions include, but are not limited to:
    • K12 Alerts®
    • Campus Alerts®
    • Anonymous Alerts®
    • Smart Button®

  2. Scope
    This AUP applies to all customers of Message Logix, Inc., including account administrators, authorized staff, and any user who accesses or utilizes the System ("Users").

  3. Acceptable Use
    Users may use the System for lawful, legitimate, and operational purposes, including but not limited to:
    • Emergency communications, such as building closures, safety threats, weather emergencies, or urgent operational issues.
    • Critical announcements, including schedule changes, event updates, transportation notifications, and community reminders.
    • Authorized institutional outreach that supports the educational or operational mission of the organization.

  4. Prohibited Use
    Users may not use the System in any manner that is unlawful, abusive, harmful, or disruptive. Prohibited uses include, but are not limited to:
    • Illegal or Non-Compliant Communications
      • Violating federal or state telecommunications rules, including the Telephone Consumer Protection Act (TCPA) or relevant privacy laws.
      • Sending fraudulent, deceptive, defamatory, or misleading messages.

    • Harassing or Abusive Behavior
      • Using the System to threaten, intimidate, or harass any individual.
      • Broadcasting messages that contain discriminatory, hateful, or profane content.

    • Unauthorized or Excessive Messaging
      • Sending messages to groups of contacts without proper authorization from your organization.
      • Using the System for personal, political, or promotional/advertising purposes.
      • Generating volumes of calls or messages that disrupt system availability or burden recipients.

    • Security Violations
      • Attempting to bypass login security controls or gain unauthorized access to the System. This includes users logging into a profile that they did not have permission to use.
      • Uploading or transmitting malicious content.
      • Permitting unauthorized individuals to use the System, unless necessary (example: emergency/urgent situations).

  5. User Responsibilities
    Users of Message Logix, Inc. communications systems are responsible for:
    • Ensuring the accuracy, necessity, and appropriateness of all distributed messages.
    • Obtaining and maintaining correct contact information for recipients.
    • Protecting the confidentiality of any accessed data.
    • Reviewing message content before distribution to ensure compliance and professionalism.

  6. Message Logix, Inc. Rights
    Message Logix, Inc. reserve the right to:
    • Monitor usage of the System to ensure compliance with this policy.
    • Suspend, limit, or terminate access to the System if violations occur.
    • Report suspected unlawful activity to appropriate authorities.
    • Modify or update this Acceptable Use Policy at any time.
      • Current version of AUP is available on our website.

  7. Data Privacy and Confidentiality
    • Users must comply with all applicable privacy laws and any contractual obligations.
    • Users may not upload or transmit sensitive personal information unless authorized and required for legitimate institutional purposes.

  8. Client Representations
    • System will be used solely for lawful purposes.
    • Users will not transmit messages using the System that are in violation of any laws.
    • Users must have the authority to use the System to transmit messages to intended recipients.
      • Intended recipients are collected from Client Data that is provided to Message Logix, Inc.
    • Client Data refers to the contact information for the Client and the Client's message recipients that is provided to Message Logix, Inc. by the Client for use with the System. Client Data may include, but is not limited to, personally identifiable information. This data is imported from the Client’s database into the Message Logix, Inc. database.

  9. Reporting Violations
    Suspected violations of this policy should be reported to: support@k12alerts.com
    • Reports will be investigated, and Message Logix, Inc. will take appropriate action if necessary. This may include, but is not limited to, warnings, suspensions, termination of Client’s account, and/or legal reporting.

  10. Acceptance of Policy
    • By accessing or using the System, Users acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agree to comply with this Acceptable Use Policy.
